THE HOUSE
About Hatta.
Founded by Chang Hatta in 1972. Five decades of sourcing the earth’s most extraordinary gem materials: unheated rubies, paraiba tourmalines, pigeon-blood sapphires, then composing them into jewels and sculptures of singular stature.

THE FOUNDER
“Our magnificent jewels and objets d’arts undoubtedly capture the colour of every emotion.”
Chang Hatta began his career in the gem fields of Burma and Sri Lanka, selecting rough material with an eye trained by the great dealers of the post-war era. By the early 1980s he had established a reputation among connoisseurs for stones of exceptional colour, clarity, and provenance.
Today the house holds one of the most significant private inventories of unheated Burmese rubies, Kashmir sapphires, and Colombian emeralds in Asia. Every stone enters the collection with full certification from SSEF, GRS, or GIA, and many carry documented provenance stretching back decades.
The atelier, spanning workshops in Hong Kong and Taipei, transforms these stones into compositions that honour the material. No trends, no seasons. Only the conviction that a truly rare stone deserves a setting of equal ambition.
OUR PRINCIPLES
What we believe.
01 · PROVENANCE
Every stone carries documentation of its origin, treatment history, and chain of custody. We source directly and certify through SSEF, GRS, and GIA, never on trust alone.
02 · CRAFTSMANSHIP
Our ateliers compose settings that honour the stone. No mass production, no compromise. Each piece is a conversation between material and maker, often spanning months.
03 · DISCRETION
We do not publish prices. We do not rush. Every transaction begins with a conversation and concludes with a relationship, not a receipt.
THE BOUTIQUE
Every jewel, past and present.
